As dawn breaks over Tribeca, the city holds its breath, anticipating the day’s spectacle. The star? The 2024 Maserati GranTurismo Trofeo. More than just a car, it’s today’s protagonist, embarking from the vibrant streets of Tribeca to the laid-back, surfer chic vibe of Montauk. Destination: EQ Magazine’s cover shoot at Maple Villas, where two stunningly modern homes rise majestically above the Atlantic. Here, the charismatic Maserati, with its sleek bonnet and assertive grille, commands the scene against a dramatic backdrop of full-glass facades and sweeping ocean vistas.
The Maserati’s cabin, a sanctuary of rich leather and fine acoustics, feels like an exclusive club. Its gentle growl, a contrast to Manhattan’s soft hum, commands the city’s arteries with regal composure.
Once on the Long Island Expressway, the Trofeo reveals its dual nature. A flick into Corsa mode transforms it from a refined cruiser to a formidable track beast. This car isn’t just flexible; it’s versatile, with four distinct driving modes—Comfort, GT, Sport, and Corsa—each designed to optimize the driving experience from plush relaxation in Comfort to the aggressive dynamism in Corsa. The engine’s growl deepens, gears snap crisply, and every throttle press pumps adrenaline through its veins. Underneath the bonnet, the Nettuno V6, inspired by the MC20, unleashes 542 horsepower, seamlessly orchestrating these varied driving experiences.
The journey evolves as we reach the Hamptons. A stop at Sant Ambroeus in Southampton offers a moment to soak in the chic ambiance before we cruise through Sagaponack and Amagansett. In each village, the Maserati turns heads, drawing queries and admiring glances. The drive through the Hamptons—past scenic vistas, charming farmer’s markets, and quaint streets—is as much a social interaction as it is a scenic tour. The car’s presence enhances each encounter, sparking conversations and eliciting thumbs-ups from car aficionados, reflecting the Trofeo’s allure as a true conversation starter.
Upon arrival at the Maple Villas, the Maserati is perfectly at home. Developed by Alessandro Zampedri and crafted by Lissoni Partners New York, these homes are not just structures; they are a confluence of art, architecture, and coastal living. Kyle Rosko from Elliman captures this sentiment: “These homes are bold statements, where design and lifestyle meet the horizon.”
Zampedri reflects on the Maserati’s role in today’s shoot: “Selecting the GranTurismo Trofeo for the EQ cover shoot was strategic. Its elegant lines and assertive presence beautifully complement the Maple Villas’ luxurious, forward-thinking design.”
And so, as the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky in golds and pinks, our day’s journey with the GranTurismo Trofeo draws to a gentle close. It’s a narrative not just of miles traversed but of moments captured—a drive shaped by the rhythmic pulse of Italian craftsmanship and the exhilarating echoes of Maserati’s storied racing legacy. In this Maserati, every journey is an elegant procession, each destination a testament to a life lived with passion and speed.
