One of Breitling‘s bestsellers from the 1960s, the Top Time, is being revitalized with a contemporary edition of the watch. The new Top Time Dues is a modern, limited-edition variant of Breitling’s popular 60’s chronograph. The original release was designed for young, on-the-go professionals interested in ultra-modern chronographs.
Following Breitling and Deus Ex Machina’s sold-out collaboration in 2021, the two brands are reuniting to release a second edition of Breitling’s hit watch. Like the original Top Time, the sporty Top Time Dues targets an active demographic.
While the 2021 edition sported a yellow and orange color way, the 2022 edition debuts a fresh blue and white look. A clothing line will also be released, inspired by Breitling’s original 1960s chronograph.
Several motifs from Breitling and Dues Ex Machina’s prior collaboration are carried through to this new edition, including the lightning bolt-shaped chronograph hand, mushroom pushers, brown racing-themed calfskin leather strap, and caseback engraving of a Deus bike and rider designed by Deus’ creative director Carby Tuckwell. The contemporary watch’s stainless-steel case measures 41mm and houses the COSC-certified Breitling Caliber 23. With this, the sport watch has a power reserve of approximately 48 hours, as well as a 3-bar water resistance.
The new Top Time Dues will be released a limited edition run of 2000 pieces. To mark the watch’s exclusivity, each caseback has a “One of 2000” engraving.
